Is it just me…

…or does the new site fucking suck?

After waiting more than half a year for a new site and forum to come out, Am I the only one that’s disappointed?

Basically, what we got is the exact same thing, but with a new color scheme. Instead of the old black/grey/green combo, we now have a much less interesting blue/blue/blue color. The forums are EXACTLY the same. In fact, one could say they are worse, with a plethora of good information requiring an extra hurdle to reach.

There are no amazing new sections for fleet leaders to meet or clans to organize battles. Rather, we are left with the good old and underused clan battle system of old. Furthermore, the clan info section now gets to be ranked by a system which can be easily manipulated by the Baotrung method.

This doesn’t even account for the truly shitty new security system. Yes, I understand the excuse that people who share there password get the risk. However, SDE seems to forget that people DO ACTUALLY GET HACKED! It really is not that hard to set up a system where you can change your e-mail address and info without giving ABSOLUTE FREEDOM to anybody who may have found out/guessed/hacked your password?

Not to mention, the moderation system seems to be the exact same. No new functions our auto messaging. Such the same old lock/nuke/hide and optional PM.  Some of the best moderators I have ever seen on the realm of online forums reside in SMF based boards. It’s entirely possible to be strict without being Nazi.

More qualified than mmany current forum mods.

Lastly, I would like to bring up something I never thought I would have too. SDE’s refusal to just take my money. Instead, they have decided to do a retardedly convoluted system of Olives. Moving aside from the fact that olives are a horrible idea for a system of currency. Not only can one not any longer simply give SDE their money directly, but now they must actually spend more money in order to receive their various strings of code which give them advantages within the world of even more code. I don’t know how marketing works, but it would seem to me that people who think they are being cheated will be less inclined to buy something. On the other hand, I’m sure those who can benefit from the Olive purchase system will more than happily abuse it.

Who would abuse Olive though?

Needless to say, I think many were suffering the “Grass is greener” syndrome. Why do I say that. Well, we already had the perfect NF forums for our use. Now, by popular demand, we’re stuck with this.
